Aircraft Types Module Overview

What is Aircraft Types?

Aircraft type data is generally used to define the data and performance for each type of aircraft in
your fleet.

The information entered here will affect many facets of FOS scheduling and quoting, so please
ensure the data entered is accurate. Once entered the data should not be changed unless you are
confident of the effect on all of the data in other parts of the program.

By default FOS will include aircraft type data for many aircraft, however, it is the users’ responsibility
to add new aircraft type information and ensure the accuracy of the existing data.

The Aircraft Types list may be viewed in various ways based on selected filter and sort options.

The list displays the information entered into each record. You may sort the list by clicking on the
column headings or by using the “Sort” menu. The “Options” menu has an option to change the type
ID.

Sort – sort listed aircraft types by desired option

Options – Change Aircraft Type ID

Please note: Do not change the type ID in any other manner than using this option utility; to
do so will affect all aspects of scheduling including crewmember qualifications.

- Type ID – This is the internal ID which connects this record to other data locations within
FOS. This ID should only be changed using “Change Type ID” option at the list level.
- Aircraft Type - Allows a full designation of the type. This field may be changed manually. If
changed, this will affect any reports run using the data from this field. Data is displayed
verbatim as well.
- FAA ID – This is the FAA designation for the aircraft type and is used when reporting times to
ARG/US and Wyvern. You may set multiple types to the same FAA ID which sends the
crewmember times as one type to ARG/US and Wyvern. The FAA ID may be chosen from the
drop-down list or may be entered manually in the field if not found in the list.
- ARINC Default Aircraft – User may run truncated flight plans by linking the ARINC Direct
Aircraft type to the aircraft record in FOS. Select the drop down under "ARINC Default Aircraft"
and select the correct aircraft type. This will enable preliminary flight planning for non ARINC
Direct subscribed tails.
- ICAO ID – Informational field; complete as necessary.
- Type Desc – Informational field; complete as necessary.
- Manufacturer - Informational field; complete as necessary.
- FSI Model – This field is used in conjunction with the interface to Flight Safety.
