Airport Update - Automation Setup
As of 3.15.4, airport updates can now be automated. Below are the instructions for setting up the airport update automation.
Notes: With the release of FOS version 3.14.3, airport data will be provided by Universal Aviation. Any new data is released on Mondays.
To setup automation, the following considerations should be made:
- It is best practice, but not required, to have all users logged out during the update as any open airport records will not be updated during this process.
- Any open records will be skipped and attempted at the next airport update run time.
- The automation is set to run biweekly, by default.
Setup Steps:
1. Navigate to the Company Module > Interface tab > Settings subtab
2. Set the day of the week and the corresponding time (same time zone as the server is set to; Portside hosted customers are set to UTC time) that you would like the automation to run at and enable "Automatic Updates" which will provide a popup to be acknowledged.
3. Restart the Interface Manager user (if Portside hosted, contact FOS Technical Support for this request).
Note: while the airport update is running, based on the schedule set above, the conversion utility will be seen running on the server
4. Once complete, the screen above will automatically close and the success/failure of the latest scheduled update will be reflected on the bottom of the setup screen referenced in step 2. Reminder the operations runs on a biweekly schedule so it will have a next sync date of 2 weeks from the last attempt date.
