Clearing a Hung or Disconnected Session

Clearing a Hung or Disconnected Session

An issue one might face that would indicate a disconnected, or hung, session could be (but is not limited to):

  1. a black screen in FOS
  2. FOS completely frozen
  3. gray background when utilizing the timeline view
  4. logging out of FOS and back in, only to have the same screens open on your monitor
  5. FOS login window not appearing after clicking the FOS icon

If you find yourself with a disconnected, or hung, session the below will allow you to clear it from your local machine.

If you're using a PC:
To clear your own session, navigate to the hidden icons ^ at the bottom right of your main monitor. Right click on the Citrix icon, choosing Connection Center.

Highlight the FOS folder connection with a single click, then choose Log Off. If the Log Off button is grayed out, right click on the folder, and choose Log Off. Once complete, best practice is to sign out of the Citrix page and sign back in before launching FOS again.

If you're using a Mac:
To clear your own session, navigate to the Citrix Viewer icon and right click (hold down the Ctrl button and click on the icon; this will simulate a right click).

Choose Quit.

Choose Sign Out. Once complete, best practice is to sign out of the Citrix page and sign back in before launching FOS again.
