Creating a Restricted/Read Only Crew or Passenger Login

Creating a Restricted/Read Only Crew or Passenger Login

Overview
A restricted login grants certain users read only access to FOS. This is often used for crewmember, passenger, or schedule board users that should not be able to edit data in FOS. This also ensures the user does not use a FOS license, however they will be using Pervasive licenses to access the database.

User Data - User Tab
An individual user or user group must be modified to show the desired restricted log in settings. It is recommended to create a user group in the event additional crew or passenger logins will need to be created.

In this example, the restricted user will be setup for crewmembers.

Restricted Login - Select the appropriate user type that will be using the restricted login. In this example the User Data for Crewmember Login will be selected.
Passenger/Crew Login Access - These options will determine what trips the user should have access to view and open.
  1. View & Open Pax/Crew Trips - This option is the most restrictive and will only allow the user to view listed on the schedule board and open trips for which they have been assigned as a crew member or passenger.
  2. View All Trips & Open Pax/Crew Trips - This option allows the user to view all trips on the schedule board and open only those trips they are assigned as a crewmember or passenger.
  3. View & Open All Trips - This option allows users to view all trips on the schedule board and open all trips.
  4. Closed Trips - The user will be able to see trips that have been marked as closed.
  5. All Shuttle Flights - This option will display all trips marked as shuttle regardless if the crewmember or passenger is assigned to the trip.
  6. Hide Authorizer, Planner, & Cost - This option hides authorizer, planner, and cost information associated with the trip.
  7. Aircraft Notes & Availability (Show N/A) - Any notes or availability on the calendar will display as N/A.
  8. All Travel Requests - This option gives the user access to all travel requests in the Travel Request module.

User Data - General & Operations Tabs
On the General and Operations tabs of the user group, set the appropriate access levels. Most of these will either be marked as “Read Only” or “None” based on the permissions you wish them to have.

Personnel Data - Emp Tab
On the Emp tab of a personnel record there is a crewmember login section that must be populated with the restricted login user group. Once the user group is populated populate the password.

Note: FOS Version 3.13.2 and above will require a reset of user and user group passwords at the interval set within company data. For users set up with restricted log in accounts this will need to be entered on the crewmember login section as above.

Logging in as a Restricted User
To login as a restricted user the correct login option must be selected, in this example the Planner/Crew option will be selected. The crewmember may use their Crew ID, employee number, or SSO as the username and whatever password was entered in the personnel record.
