Following the migration of FOS to Portside’s AWS environment, customers will need to update the email field of their user profiles in order for outgoing emails to continue working. Alternatively, there is the option to configure FOS email settings to use a custom domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com
) instead of the default @portside.co
domain.
This guide outlines the steps to configure a custom email domain to ensure successful email delivery.
To maintain email security and ensure successful email delivery, customers need to authenticate Portside’s email servers. The authentication process includes:
✅ DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) – Helps verify that emails are sent by an authorized server.
✅ SPF (Sender Policy Framework) – Prevents email spoofing by authorizing specific mail servers to send emails on behalf of a domain.
✅ DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) – Provides email security policies and reporting mechanisms.
Customers have three options when setting up email for FOS in the Portside environment:
@portside.co
)@portside.co
address.@yourcompany.com
) with DNS Authentication@yourcompany.com
) with an SMTP ServerTo configure your FOS email settings using Option 2 or 3, contact Portside Support at fossupport@portside.co.
If you choose Option 2, Portside will provide specific DNS configuration instructions for your IT team. If you choose Option 3, please be prepared to share your SMTP credentials securely.
