Interface Manager User

Interface Manager User

Customers wishing to use the various integrations within FOS, will require an Interface Manager User profile. This user should then be running 24/7 either on the server or ideally, a dedicated machine. FOS instances are created with an Interface Manager User profile. Once established, changes should not be made unless fully understood or directed by FOS Support.

Proper configuration of the Interface Manager User should include the below (* marks items specifically needed for hosted customers).

User Tab:
  1. Windows Username* - Support will know this detail
  2. Email Address - Set as "fos-no-reply"* (if self-hosted, this should be the legitimate company address)
  3. Reply To Address - Set as the legitimate contact email for the company/Aviation department* (if self-hosted, this can be left blank unless you want replies back to automated reports sent by this user to go to another recipient)
  4. Authentication Required* - Set to Windows if hosted; set to FOS if self-hosted
    1. Also check the authentication settings in Company > General Tab as that should be "Windows or FOS"
  5. Users Company - Ensure the company selected is the "primary" if more than one is built in FOS; tying the user to the company is what allows the user to utilize the settings and credentials in Company > Interfaces.
  6. List View Level - Set to 10
  7. System Manager - Enabled
  8. Upload Documents - Enabled
  9. Interface Manager Only User - Enabled (only one profile in FOS can have this box selected, it should be enabled only on the Interface Manager User)
    1. Auto Start Interface Manager (this is grayed out as it auto-selects when the permission above is enabled. This is what allows the interfaces module to auto open/run.
  10. Report Setup - Enabled
  11. Print Restricted Reports - Enabled

Operations Tab:
  1. Trip Information - Set to "Read Only", or higher (this allows the Interface Manager User to open the scheduling board, which is required for some automated reporting needs)

Interface Tab:
  1. Flight Planning (ARINC Direct or Honeywell GDC) - These fields should remain blank in this user profile. When the integration runs, the system will look to the credentials entered in Company > Portside Tab.
  2. Fatigue - These fields should remain blank in this user profile. When the integration runs, the system will look to the credentials entered in Company > Interfaces Tab > Applications subtab.
  3. Flight Manager - These fields should remain blank in this user profile.
