Scheduling Defaults

Overview
Scheduling defaults allow users to adjust certain display settings that only affect the user's view.


Accessing the Scheduling Defaults
The scheduling defaults can be accessed by selecting window from the top toolbar of any schedule view.


Preferences Tab
  1. Flight Log Time Zone - Sets the default time zone flight logs will appear in.
  2. Crew Activity Time Zone - Sets the default time zone for crew activities.
  3. Default Schedule Action - The user can set the default action when double clicking on the schedule to open/edit the trip or quote.
  4. Double Click Trip - Default action for double clicking on a trip.
  5. Double Click Leg - Default action for double clicking on a leg.
  6. Requester Display - Determines if the trip, leg, or both the trip and leg requester should be displayed.
  7. AC & Crew Display - Determines what will display next to the aircraft tail number and crewmember ID on the time line and schedule board views.

  1. Aircraft Schedule - Determines what additional information will appear under the tail number of the schedule board.
  2. Crew Schedule - Determines what additional information will appear under the crew ID of the schedule board.
  3. Rows per Leg - Allows the user to specify how many rows each leg should appear on the schedule board. For example, if the Rows per leg is set to 2 the leg details will appear on two separate lines.
  4. Hours per Row - Allows the user to specify hours each day should be broken down by. For example, if Hours per Row is set to 1, each cell would be broken down into 24 separate rows, so if a leg started at 0900 it would appear 9 rows down in the cell.


Defaults

  1. Day of Week - Allows the user to specify a specific day of the week the schedule should start on. If the selected date option is used, FOS will start the schedule on Today's date.
  2. Default Window - Set the default schedule to open when selecting the Operations Module.
  3. Trip Page - Sets the default tab a trip opens to when creating a new trip or editing an existing trip.
  4. Pax Page - Sets the default tab a trip pax record opens when editing trip passenger details.
  5. Crew Ranking - User Column - When viewing the crew ranking screen a number of columns can be customized to show specific activity types, leg types, or leg purpose. This allows the user to get a better snap shot of the number of a specific activity or specific type of leg that were completed by the crewmember in a specific time frame.
In the below example the user activity option is set to "Off", Leg Type is set to "BSPR", and leg purpose is set to "BUS" and the crew ranking screen is set to look 30 days back and 30 days forward for these activities. The crew ranking screen Shows the total and scheduled days off as well as the total Business Personal Legs (BSPR) and Business (BUS) purpose legs completed and scheduled. The number displayed here are all within the 30 days back and 30 days forward parameter.


Schedule Symbols
  1. Schedule Symbols - Schedule symbols may be used to show when certain things occur within a trip or leg. This will allow users to get a quick overview of the status of the trip without having to open the trip to find this information.
Note: It is recommended that all users have the same schedule symbols to ensure everyone understands what they mean and how they are used.



Network Update Interval
  1. Network Update Interval (minutes) - This determines how often the schedule board will automatically refresh to pull any changes or updates completed by other users.
  2. Preload Schedule Data - When opening the operations module FOS will load the trip data for the previous, current, and next month for quicker navigation.
  3. Enable Trip Pax Patient/Cost Data - This option allows the user to access patient and cost data.
  4. Maintenance Projection Recalc - This option recalculates maintenance projections that may be turned on for some of the tails.
  5. Contract Validation - Checks the client/passenger contract when a quote or trip is scheduled.
  6. Debug Messages (CTA Use) - This will only be used by the FOS Tech Support Team.
Note: These options preload information without having to open or select the data. This may cause the operations module to load slower, but general navigation after it is loaded will be quicker.


Behavior Preferences
  1. View Trips when Trip Edit Window is Open - When a trip is open this will allow the user to open another trip and view the trip details in the "Read Only" format. Without this option turned on FOS will prompt the user to save and close the trip currently open.
  1. Auto Select Aircraft in Reports - If a specific aircraft is selected on the calendar, when the user opens the report selection window that one aircraft will automatically be selected in the aircraft list rather than all aircraft.
  2. Double Click Empty Day creates New Trip/Quote - When double clicking on an empty cell, either a new trip or new quote notebook will open.
  3. Do Not Set Trip Cost Center from Requester - If a cost center is set on the Report tab of a requester it will not get populated on the Cost tab within the trip.
  4. Mult PIC/SIC Warning Assigning Crew Via Timeline - A warning will be generated if multiple PIC's or SIC's are assigned to a trip.
  5. Disable Pax Standby Warning - By default FOS will generate a warning if a passenger is set to "Standby", this option will disable that warning.


Schedule Board Preferences
  1. Ac Color - The color of the aircraft that appears on the schedule board will be set by the color in the aircraft record or by the aircraft status.
  2. Crew Act Color - The color of a crewmember activity will display the open checklist color when briefs have been requested for that activity.
  3. Approval Code - Displays the approval code set in the trip/leg.
  4. Base Code - Displays the base code set in the trip/leg.
  5. Contract Number - Displays the contract number.
  6. Delay Code - Displays the delay code set in the flight log of the leg.
  7. Division Code - Displays the division code set in the trip/leg.
  8. Estimated and Actual Time (e,a) - Displays an "e" next to estimated departure and arrival times and displays an "a" next to actual departure and arrival times.
  9. External Trip Number - Displays the external trip number listed on the Record Info tab within the trip. This field can be manually populated, however is often times automatically pop
  10. FA & Gnd on New Line - Displays flight attendants and ground crew assigned to a trip on a separate line than the flight crew.
  11. Flight Number - The flight number listed in the trip/leg will be displayed on the calendar.
  12. Flight Plan Code - Displays the flight plan code set in the leg.
  13. Leg Type Code - Displays the leg type code set in the leg.
  14. No Colors - Displays the schedule in black and white.
  15. No Flight Log - Disables color changes for logged legs.
  16. No Verified - Disables color changes for verified legs.
  17. Note User, Date, Time - Displays the user ID, date, and time an aircraft note was added to the calendar.
  18. Note Description - Displays the description included in the aircraft note on the schedule board.
  19. Pax Count (vs seats available) - Displays the number of passengers assigned to a leg rather than the number of available seats.
  20. Hide Pax Cnt - Hides the number of passengers assigned to a leg.
  21. Phone Number - Displays the planner phone number.
  22. Positions Crewed (PSEF) -
  23. Priority - Trip - Displays the priority assigned to the trip.
  24. Priority - Leg - Displays the priority assigned to the leg.
  25. Purpose Code - Displays the purpose set in the trip/leg.
  26. Reg Code - Displays the regulation set in the trip/leg.
  27. Show Scheduled & Actual Leg Times - Both scheduled and actual departure and arrival times will be displayed on the schedule.
  28. Tentative Times show TBA - When the "Tent" check box is marked within a trip FOS displays a "?" next to the time. This option replaces the "?" with "TBA".
  29. Hide All Cancelled Trips - Hides cancelled trips from the schedule.
  30. Maintenance Status Sheet Items - Displays maintenance items on the status sheet.
  31. Maintenance Item Projection Level - Will display maintenance items with the same or lower projection level. Schedule Projection Level field is in the top left corner of the Aircraft Maintenance Item screen within the aircraft module > Maint tab
  32. AP Wx Min (Visibility, Ceiling, Wind, Temp, OpMsg) - FOS will display a v, c, w, t, or m next to the leg where weather minimums set in company data or the individual are exceeded or an ops message exists.


Timeline & Printing Preferences
  1. AC Tail Num - Displays the aircraft tail number rather than the aircraft ID on the timeline view.
  2. Flt Trk Num (Print on AC Sched) - The aircraft flight tracking number will be included on the aircraft schedule when the print option is selected.
  3. Display Crew Name (Print on Crew Schedule) - The crewmember's name will be printed on the schedule when the print option is selected from the bottom of hte schedule board screen.
  1. Local arrival time in departure timezone - Displays the arrival time of a leg in the time zone of the departure airport.
  2. Show Crew Legs Over Activities - Flight legs will be ordered before crewmember activities on the calendar.


Crew Duty & Legality

  1. Crew Legality Checks - Allows the user to view crew legality check. This setting may be overridden in company data where all users are forced to see the legality checks.
  2. Aircraft Maintenance - Turns on maintenance legality checks.

(Example of Maintenance Check)

  1. Duty's Rest-After starts Immediately - This generates a warning if an activity is added after the flight duty period that rest time is overlapped.
  2. Report All Activity Conflicts - This will generate a warning for any overlapping activities.
  3. Show Rest Before Duty Period - Displays the rest period, as defined in the regulation, prior to the duty period start time.


Violation Text Options
  1. Legality Violation Font 1 - When a legality violation occurs on a trip the font will change on the affected trip.
  2. Legality Violation 1 - This sets the line where the legality violation font change will occur; itinerary, requester, and/or crew.
  3. Open Checklist Font 2 - Changes the font of the leg when there are open checklist items.
  4. High Priority Checklist Font 2 - Changes the font of the leg when there are high priority checklist items.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the open checklist item color on the color key.

  1. Ap Wx Minimums Font 3 - Changes the font of the leg when weather is below the minimums set in the company record or individual airport record.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the Warning/Wx color on the color key.

  1. Invoiced Font 4 - Changes the font of a tri[ that has been invoiced.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the Invoiced color on the color key.

  1. Paid Font 4 - Changes the font of a trip when the associated quote has been marked as paid.
  2. Leg Warning 5 - Changes the font of the leg when a leg warning occurs.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the Warning/Wx color on the color key.

  1. RON Leg Font 6 - Changes the font of a leg with an RON.
  2. Deadhead Leg Font 6 - Changes the font of a deadhead leg.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the Deadhead/RON color on the color key.

  1. Homebase Dep/ Arr Font 6 - Changes the font of a leg departing or arriving at the home base.
Note: If the color option is selected FOS will use the Home color on the color key.

  1. Approval Color 7 - Changes the color of the requester and or itinerary of a trip depending on the approval code set in the trip.
  2. Leg Type Color 8 - Changes the color of the itinerary and/or requester depending on the leg/trip type set in the trip.
  3. Purpose Color 9 - Changes the color of the itinerary or requester depending on the purpose set in the trip.
  4. Base Color 10 - Changes the color of the itinerary or requester depending on the base set in the trip.
  5. Reg Color 11 - Changes the color of the itinerary or requester depending on the regulation set in the trip.

The colors for approval, leg type, purpose, base, and regulation may be set by selecting a group within the specific code.

The groups correspond with colors 1-10 on the color key.

  1. Aircraft Color 12 - Changes the color of the itinerary, requester, and/or crew activities to the color of the aircraft as shown on the operations board.
Note: This color is set by either the aircraft status or the color selected in the aircraft record.
  1. Priority Color - Changes the color of the itinerary and/or requester based on the priority set in the trip.
Note: This color is set by colors 1-10 on the color key. When setting the priority above 10 the color will start back at 1. For example, setting the priority to 12 would set the color to 2 on the color key.


Schedule Printing (Not Crystal Reports)
  1. Schedule Printing (Not Crystal Reports) - When the print option is selected on the schedule board the schedule will print to the selected printer.


Sortie
  1. New Sortie State - When the production flight test / military option is turned on, users can select the default state for a new sortie.


Crew Activities
  1. Crew Activities - Allows the user to show or hide the specific activity types selected in the list.
  2. Crew Ranking - Defaults the crew ranking screen filter to all, type rating, or aircraft types.
  1. AC Maintenance - Filter to show all CASS and Maintenance items, maintenance items only, or CASS items only.


Aircraft Note Type
  1. Aircraft Note Type - Filter to show or hid aircraft notes of a specific type.


Schedule Popup Notes
  1. Schedule Popup Notes - Set what details display in the pop-up information when hovering over a leg.


Itinerary Tab
Mark off the specific data that should be shown on each of the screens. Use the arrows to the right of the column to order the data.
