Updating Pervasive

Updating Pervasive

All users will need to be logged out of FOS for Pervasive to be updated. Also, if users are accessing FOS using a shortcut on their computer once the version of Pervasive has been updated on the server the local machines will also need to update to the corresponding client version of Pervasive.
**You will want to know the database name in the existing Pervasive database, before proceeding with the update as it should be named the same in step 6 below.

1. On the FOS Server stop the Pervasive Services. There should be two; Relational and Transactional.
2. On the FOS Server Open the Pervasive Control Center and Delete the FOS Database.
3. Uninstall the current version of Pervasive on the Server.
4. Download the version of Pervasive that you are currently updating to from the Pervasive website.
  1. You should choose the Server option for database installs on the server.
5. Run the Pervasive Installer on the server to install.
6. Open the Pervasive Control Center and recreate the FOS Database. Ensure the Create dictionary files (if they do not exist) and Relational integrity enforces boxes are unchecked and the Create 32-bit Engine DSN check box is checked. Use the same database name that was in the previous version that should have been captured before starting.

7. Restart both of the Pervasive services on the server.
8. If applicable, update the end user's local machine with the corresponding client version of Pervasive.
