The “Recent Experience” tab contains fields to check currency requirements for the crewmember. It is divided into four sections.
The first section deals with requirements that if set will be mandatory for aircraft of the same category, class, and type rating. In the example, any fixed wing, multi-engine land aircraft of a certain type rating would require the pilot to have three takeoff and landings in a ninety day period.
The second section deals with those requirements in only category and class, irrespective of type. In the example the pilot would be required in a fixed wing, multi-engine land aircraft to accomplish three night takeoff and landings in a ninety day period. If the “In Type Rating” check box is used Support
along with either the “FAR Part 61.57” or “FAR Part 135.247” checkbox, the rule will be activated for
the night takeoff and landing exception as stated in those two regulations. The correct setup will be explained at the end of this section.
The third section deals with instrument currency in Category. In the example, the requirements would be required for a fixed wing aircraft. The pilot would need to have six instrument approaches in six months plus one holding and one tracking event in a six month period as well. There is also an option to have an instrument check substitute for these requirements. Checking this box will require that a date be entered, either manually or from a training item in the “Crew” tab of the personnel record.

The fourth section deals with requiring a certain numbers of hours in either a specific category or flying an aircraft with a specific powerplant type. If only PIC time should be counted, check that option. The user also has the option of defining custom time or quantities for items not covered elsewhere.
