Specs Tab

This tab contains all specification details for the aircraft. Specifications may be broken down into five major sections:

Aircraft Specifications
Weight and Balance
Aircraft Type Overrides
Options
Custom Tracking Fields (Time 1, Time 2, Cycle 1, Cycle 2)

Aircraft Specifications

Please make sure to select data for the following fields. If these fields are not selected, the basic flight logging will be disabled:
Aircraft
Engine
Engine Cycles
Flight Log Units Section
Hours: Aircraft & Engines Hours – Set fields based on the flight time, block time, tach or Hobbs meter.

Set FT from Hobbs: Selecting this option will set the flight time to the difference in the Hobbs reading rather than using the “Off” and “On” time entered within the flight log.

Prop/Eng Acc: For aircraft with propellers or other engine accessories, set the number of engine accessories field in the aircraft type data to the proper reading.
This will allow the total number for accessories to be logged. A description of those accessories may be entered in the Description field.

APU/AC Acct1 & Acc2: Enter APU and Aircraft accessories in these fields.
***Do not check these fields unless you have made arrangements with the maintenance vendor to have those numbers sent from FOS to the maintenance program interface.***

Thrust Reversers: For thrust reversers, enter the factor for the engine cycles to calculate when the thrust reversers are used.
You may choose which factor to default on the flight log and to which engines the factor is applied, if necessary.
The default may be changed on the fly in the flight log under the “AC Tab” when necessary.

Lifts, GP (C1), PT (C2), IP, CP, RIN Factor T/O, RIN Factor Lift– These fields are used for helicopter logging. Use these fields for your Rotocraft as necessary.
Abbr Cycle Fctr, Flts Cyc-Cnt Fctr, Starts Cycle Fctr– These fields are used when needing to factor the cycles rather than using 1 cycle per leg.

Engine Type – This field is informational and may be used for reporting if necessary.

Please note: If setting the aircraft and engine hours fields to Hobbs make certain to set the times in the Hobbs field of the flight log.
Ensure whichever unit is set has this information entered when flight logging the aircraft.

Weight & Spec and Fuel Burn Units section

The weight and balance information entered here are for the mainly for informational purposes only. The only fields where information is used in locations within FOS are:

MGTOW – Maximum Gross Takeoff Weight

Fuel Burn Units (either pounds/hour or kilograms/hour)

These fields are set in the aircraft type data and should only be set in this section to override the data under the aircraft type.

Aircraft Type Override Section

This section will override the data entered in the aircraft type data.
If the information in the aircraft type data is standard for this particular aircraft, there will be no need to enter any data in the override fields.

The “Max Pax” and “Addl Crew Seats” fields have values entered and displayed from the type data.

Options Section (Including Over Water Equip, Audio Video, Oven and Crew Rest)

This section allows you to show what features are available on the aircraft as well as using those features to search for aircraft at the list level view.
The only exception is the “Crew Rest” section where a bunk or seat may be selected. If selected, this option can affect the rest times when using the European regulations.

Custom Tracking Fields (Time 1, Time 2, Cycle 1, Cycle 2)
