Flight Log (Input post flight information)

Flight Log (Input post flight information)

Once a flight has been completed, you will want to enter the post flight information inside the trip on the Flight Log tab.

There are a couple of ways to navigate to this section.

First option: is to highlight the trip by clicking on the trip once, then right clicking, then going to "Flight Log-Trip".

Second option: is to double click on the trip and open it up, at the bottom of the main trip screen you will see the button for the "Flight Log"

Once you are on the Flight Log section or tab, it should look like this:

Third Option: is to highlight the trip on the operations board and click the Flight Log Trip/Flight Log-Day

NOTE: only required fields for the flight log are in yellow.

The first thing you will like to input is take-off (Off) and landing (On) times.

In order to properly keep the 6 min B/T (built in taxi time) you will want to adjust the (Out) up and down arrows to properly show the take-off (Off) time from the trip sheet.

If you do track actual taxi time you can adjust the (Off) and (In) arrows to make this adjustment.

For the (On) time just adjust the (On) up and down arrows.

In this example below, the take-off (Off) time is 1506 so you can make the proper adjustments if any are necessary, if no adjustment is needed, make sure to put a check mark in the departed box.

This is how FOS identifies if actual times have been inputted.

Inst-Act: is used for any flight time that was due to WX

Night: input any portion of the flight that was night.

Note: If the whole trip was a night flight, then just check the box to the left of "Night" this will automatically load all of the flight time.

Inst-Sim: Insert simulator time

Training: Insert any training flight time

Tax: If any flight time is taxable

Approaches typically will be "1" and then select the type of approach it was from the drop-down.

Note: If applicable you may select a "Cat" as well.

T/O and LND: will be "1" as well.

The Night boxes will automatically check if the times are within +/- 1 hour from the local airport Sunrise/Sunset times, if not you may select these manually if a T/O or LND occurred at night.

Fuel section which is calculated in (lbs), is filled out by inputting the Fuel you have on-board prior to take off in the (Out) box, and for the (In) box you will enter the fuel you landed with. Once you hit
"Tab" it will calculate the (Burn)

If applicable and you want to track Fuel Expenses in FOS, you may enter the Quantity here and select the type of Units it is and select the vendor as well.

In the Aircraft section, here you track or apply items that are leg specific by checking all that applicable to the flight leg.

Flight Crew section is where you can confirm who is on the flight of the specific leg and who is
flying (P/F) by checking the appropriate box next to the pilot for the specific leg.

If you happen to have additional pilots that were added, they will be visible here and if the 3rd pilot happens to be the pilot flying (P/F), you can simply highlight the individual and click "Edit" or right
click and choose "Edit Assignment" and locate the "Flying" box just below the crew position and click "OK" to save.

Once you have successfully filled out your post flight information correctly, you can now complete the process by clicking on the "Verify" button.
