User Permission Levels

User Permission Levels

There are seven different permission levels in FOS.

“None” is the lowest and “Amend/Unlock” is the highest.
NOTE: You may not assign yourself or others a permission level higher than what you already have.

Each of the permissions listed below is a subset of the next highest permission.
None – With this setting, the user has no permissions. The user cannot even view items.
Read – The user may only read data. This permission level allows them to make no changes to the data.
Update – The user may change information in an existing record but may not Add or Delete an item.
Add – The user has permission to create new entries.
Delete – The user has permission to permanently remove records from FOS.
Verify/Lock – Verification is a method to lock down data so that it may not easily be changed. FOS items that may be verified/locked are trips, flight logs and crew activities. This permission in the “Aircraft” field will also allow a user to edit aircraft data that has been locked.
Amend/Unlock – This is the maximum permission level in FOS. The user may change verified data.
