EU-OPS Rest Tab

EU-OPS Rest Tab

The “EU-OPS Rest” is designed to handle rest time requirements that are specific to European operations. Although labeled for European operations, this tab may be used for any regulation if needed and in conjunction with the other rest time tabs.

The first section deals with rest requirements. It states that the rest period before a flight duty period must be greater than or equal to the length of the preceding duty period and be greater than or equal to at least a certain number of hours when the duty period begins at the home airport or away from the home airport.

The rules may also state if there is a break, rest may be reduced by a certain amount as long as a minimum time is met. A specific rest time requirement within a specific number of days may be specified as well with an “and/or” statement.

The second section deals with time differences. These rules may be set to require more rest time when crossing a certain number of time zones. You state this difference in a certain number of hours or per hour of time difference or as additional rest depending upon the check box options used. The other option is that when the crewmember is away from the home airport a certain number of hours the rest time may be calculated by multiplying the time zone difference with a maximum.

The last section deals with the option to have a required rest time if you have a specific number of duty periods that exceed a certain number of hours.
