The “Rest Time 2” tab has additional rest time requirements based on rest that is required after excessive flight time and limitations on flight time based on rest requirements. Fields will be explained using the example shown.
In addition to what is on the “Rest Time 1” tab, if the flight time exceeds the limited flight time by an amount less than or equal to 30 minutes, the rest time must be increased to 11 hours after, 12 hours if between 30 and 60, and 16 hours if greater than 60 minutes.
In the second section, if the flight hours are greater than eight during any 24 hour period, an intervening rest period must start at or before eight hours of flight duty.
This rest period must be at least twice the number of hours flown with a maximum of twelve hours but not less than eight hours.
The third set of fields contains additional criteria to say that if the flight hours during a certain period are greater than a specific amount, a rest period of so many hours are required. The checkbox “Always set Duty Period rest time” sets a duty period rest as well. In most cases, that checkbox will not be used.
