FOS Migration: What You Need to Know

FOS Migration: What You Need to Know

Introduction

Portside has acquired FOS from Collins/ARINC (“Collins”) as of December 27, 2024. As part of this transition, customers currently hosted by Collins in Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be migrated to Portside’s AWS environment.

This migration will take place in February and March 2025 and will not affect customers already hosted by Portside or those who are self-hosted.

What to Expect During Migration

As part of this process, Portside will:

  • Launch a new FOS customer instance in Portside’s AWS environment
  • Securely migrate customer databases from Collins AWS to Portside AWS
  • Ensure seamless transition of user accounts, DUO two-factor authentication, and any third-party applications previously installed in the Collins AWS environment
WarningPlanned Downtime:

The migration will involve a temporary downtime period. We will minimize this as much as possible and notify all customers in advance via email.

Data Security & Compliance

Portside prioritizes the security of customer data. Key points:

  • Customers will remain hosted on a secure AWS environment, as before.
  • Portside’s AWS environment is SOC 2 audited. A copy of the audit report can be requested at security@portside.co.
  • The migration will be performed by an experienced engineering team currently supporting both Collins and Portside FOS-hosted customers.
