Users Module - Mobile Tab

This tab determines the information for each user that will be sent or received from the Mobile Device. The Mobile Access checkbox allows the user to configure the device. Think of this as the master on/off switch. If the box is not selected the page will not display and the user cannot utilize the mobile app.

Aircraft, Passenger, and Crewmember Schedules fields. These boxes should be reviewed carefully and only marked off if the statement is true.

  1. Aircraft (User ID = Aircraft ID) & Show Brief - Will send briefs to the aircraft’s mobile device that was created especially for the aircraft record.
  2. Maintenance Tech's Aircraft (User = Maint Tech) - If the user is set as the maintenance technician on an aircraft or a dispatcher, they will receive the aircraft schedules for any aircraft where their User ID matches the maintenance tech or dispatcher’s ID.
  3. Dispatcher’s Aircraft (User = Dispatcher) - Same as maintenance tech above
  4. Crewmember’s Aircraft (User ID = Crew ID) - If a crewmember is assigned a specific aircraft, you may check the box “Crewmember’s Aircraft” which will show that crewmember the complete schedule of the aircraft to which he is assigned.

A passenger may also be set up in the database to receive their schedule by checking the “Passengers” box. In this case, their Pax ID needs to be the same as their user ID.

A travel planner may also have access to everyone’s schedules for which they do planning. This is accomplished by checking the “Planner’s Passengers” box. In this case, the planner’s ID in the planner record for the passenger would need to match the user ID. The planner ID is set in the passenger record by opening a new planner record and selecting the individual from the list of Personnel. That planner must also be set as the planner in the trip.

  1. Crewmember (User ID = Crew ID) & Show Brief - This must be checked for the crewmember to receive their brief.
  2. Supervisor’s Crewmembers (User = Supervisor) - Any supervisor will receive the schedules of each crewmember for which they are a supervisor.
  3. Aircraft’s Crewmembers (User ID = Aircraft ID) - allows the schedule display for all crewmembers assigned to a particular aircraft. In this case, the user ID would need to be the same as the aircraft ID.

  1. Aircraft, Crew, Pax, or Planner ID - If you wish to allow this user profile to have the same crew or aircraft schedule access with the briefings, you will need to enter the crewmember’s or aircraft’s user ID from the original user account set up so that the correct information may be seen on each device. For example, if you have another user account set up for a crewmember whose User ID is ABC and that matches their crew ID, they will be able to receive their briefings on the device and acknowledge those briefings. To allow a user to do the same with another user account, enter ABC in the “Aircraft, Crew, Pax, or Planner ID” field.

Settings Sub-Tab:

  1. Group Name - when a group is selected from the list the user's permissions will be displayed from that list. This will gray out the permissions as they are coming from the group, managed in the Mobile & Web Management module.
  2. Version - field will populate when the device itself is configured (usually only on phones). The user enters nothing into this field.
  3. Load Schedule - will make the schedule available when there is no wifi connection with the mobile device.
  4. Days Back and Days Forward - allow a way to have this particular account receive a different number of days scheduled on the mobile device. This is an override for the scheduled days forward/back in the company data.

The filters may be set and used to allow access to aircraft or crew that meet the parameters specified. This would be in addition to selecting specific aircraft or crewmembers in the lists found below. To use these filters, you must check the “Use Filters” option(s) on the Aircraft/Crewmembers Tab.

Data Access:
This section determines which data menus show up on the mobile device. Checking the boxes allows access to each of the menu items listed.

  1. Flight Logs - Flight Logging
  2. Crew Duty - will allow the mobile user to add duty periods and activities to the schedule from the mobile app.
  3. Crew Brief - Allows crew members to accept briefs from mobile. Please note even when this option is not enabled crew members will receive briefs but not be able to accept them.
  4. Crew Training - Crew Due List
  5. Documents - Documents
  6. Calendar - Schedule Board and Calendar
  7. Add Trips/Legs - in trip schedule
  8. Add Passengers - in the trip schedule
  9. Delete Passengers - If this permission is enabled, the user has the option to delete a passenger from the leg within the ARINC FOS application. When deleting the passenger from Mobile, the passenger will also be removed from the trip/leg within FOS.
  10. External Calendar Sync - When enabled, this will allow the user to sync the schedule of the ARINC FOS application (Version 3.1 or higher) with their native device calendar.

Please Note: when enabled, the user still has the option to disable the calendar sync feature locally on the device (Sync with Device Calendar setting in the app). This permission in FOS will only grant them the ability to use the functionality within the ARINC FOS app.

If the user has “External Calendar Sync” enabled within FOS, but does not have “External Cal Assign Only” enabled, it will allow the user to choose the “Calendar Sync Filter” option within the app.
For “Calendar Sync Filter,” the options are to sync only their assigned schedule (displayed with the user ID), or the entire schedule (displayed with All) to the native device calendar.

External Cal Assign Only = When enabled, in conjunction with the “External Calendar Sync” permission, this will limit the user to only syncing their assigned schedule in the ARINC FOS application (Version 3.1 or higher) with their native device calendar. Their schedule includes legs they are assigned as crewmembers and/or activities they are assigned to as crewmembers.

Please Note: This permission will only read from within FOS. The control is not adjustable within the ARINC FOS application. The user still has the option to disable the calendar sync (Sync with Device Calendar) feature locally on the device. but cannot enable the "All" option of the "Calendar Filter Sync" from the app.

If the user tries to enable the “All” filter, a message indicating this option is not available due to user permissions.

  1. Hide Crew Details = If checked, this will hide other crewmember's Weight, Date of Birth, and Passport information within the ARINC FOS application (App version 3.1.2 or higher required). Certain sections will still be visible if the user has permission to view this type of information – this includes Crew Duty/Activities, Training Items, Documents, and Emergency Contact Information.
  2. Hide Expired Docs = Will hide documents that have expired in FOS from appearing in the mobile.
  3. Display Requester = If checked will allow the mobile user to see who the requestor of the trip is, otherwise if left blank the requestor will show as N/A.
  4. Display Checklist = If checked will allow the checklist to be visible to the user, if left blank no checklist will be shown.

Leg Details:
This section determines how of if the various points of data are displayed in the leg details. The HTML option is only available for the iPad, iPhone, and Android devices.

  1. Itinerary List - determines what data displays when you are viewing the schedule on the mobile device.
  2. Crew Activities - all activities the individual is assigned to (duty, flight legs, vacation, medical, conferences, etc)
  3. Flight Legs Only - only the legs the individual is assigned to
  4. Home Ap Filter - only the legs that depart from or arrive at their home airport (as outlined in the Personnel record)
  5. Training Signoff - allows the user to sign off training items either as a crewmember for individual assignments or as an instructor. The ability to sign off a training item in either case is determined in the “Training Item” setup screen.

Aircraft/Crewmembers Sub-Tab:

  1. Charter Aircraft - You may also filter the aircraft displayed by checking the “Charter Aircraft” box. When this is checked, the mobile device will display the schedule for all aircraft in FOS that have been marked as “Charter Aircraft”.
If you wish to view aircraft schedules, you have the option of seeing the schedule for each aircraft separately or you can click the “Group Aircraft” option which shows the schedule of all the aircraft as one with the legs in date/time order.

  1. Group Aircraft - all tails will be grouped in the Agenda View of the Application. Not checking the option “group aircraft” all tails will list separately on the Agenda View of the Application
  2. Crewmembers Schedules – to see various crewmembers schedules, you can select individuals in the list or use the "Use Filters" checkbox which will look to the Settings tab to apply various filters.
  3. Crewmembers Only Checkbox - When using filters to populate crewmember schedules, the crewmembers-only option will filter out crewmembers that do not have the "Crewmember" check box populated in the personnel record.

If "Use Filters" is selected under the "Aircraft Schedules" and "Crewmember Schedules" section, it will use the filters applied on the Settings sub-tab for the listing of aircraft and crewmembers to display in Mobile. Another option is to select "Add" to add each aircraft or crewmember separately. The Use Filters were created so that if needed to see all Aircraft and Crew in FOS Mobile that was under company XYZ at base ABC, should be those Filters, and then select "Use Filters".
